Navarro of Chicago promoted at GR-PR

[Hinsdale, Ill - October 17, 2007] Chicago resident Jennifer Navarro has been promoted to Director, Arts & Entertainment Division at Ginny Richardson Public Relations (GR-PR) in Hinsdale. She will handle a full range of public relations duties including creating, implementing and managing media relations campaigns for clients in the arts and entertainment industries.

“Jennifer has achieved exemplary results for all her accounts, but particularly for those in the cultural and performing arts,” said Ginny Richardson, president of GR-PR. "She has a passion for the arts and is enthusiastic about sharing her clients’ stories with the media and the public.”

Navarro has an interesting history with GR-PR. In 2000, she interned at GR-PR and later was hired as a part-time employee during her senior year of college. Following graduation, Navarro worked as a copywriter for Tritech Marketing in Burr Ridge and later as the Assistant Director of Development for Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association (NEDSRA) in Addison . She rejoined GR-PR as an account executive in 2004.

She has received top public relations awards in her three years at GR-PR. Last spring, she was honored with a Merit Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Chicago Chapter , and she received two consecutive (2006 and 2007) Golden Trumpets, the highest award given by the Publicity Club of Chicago, for her work with Von Heidecke’s Chicago Festival Ballet.

Navarro received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Communications from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights as well as a Master of Business degree with a certificate in not-for-profit management from Chicago’s Roosevelt University.

During her undergraduate studies, Navarro was flown to New York to receive an honorable mention in the Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay competition, a national contest held for college students in the fields of writing and communications. More than 285 entries were submitted, and Navarro and four others were honored personally by the celebrated author and his wife.
