(HINSDALE, IL) Chicago’s Jennifer Navarro of Ginny Richardson Public Relations (GR-PR) received two public relations awards in as many days.
She won a Skyline Merit Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Chicago Chapter on Tuesday, May 15, and the Golden Trumpet Award from the Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC) on Wednesday, May 16.

Kenneth von Heidecke, of Chicago Festival Ballet; Jennifer Navarro of GR-PR; and Tim Creemens of Chicago Festival Ballet
Navarro won PCC’s top honor in the category of marketing and the PRSA’s Merit Award in the category of media relations tactics, both awards for her work on Von Heidecke’s Chicago Festival Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” in 2006.
Competition in PCC’s marketing category was intense, and Navarro won for a second year in a row. She was awarded the crystal and gold-etched award from celebrity presenters Robin Robinson of Fox News Chicago and Bill Zwecker of CBS 2 and Chicago Sun-Times.
The campaign for Von Heidecke’s “The Nutcracker” was tremendously successful. Navarro succeeded in a detailed awareness campaign that focused on local and minority dancers involved in the production. The overall program generated 43 million impressions, up 72 percent from the previous year.
Jennifer Navarro is an account executive at GR-PR (Ginny Richardson Public Relations) located in Hinsdale. She works with a wide variety of clients from the fields of business, arts and entertainment and not-for-profit. She is also a consultant volunteer with the Arts and Business Council of Chicago.
“Everyone at GR-PR, especially me, is proud of Jennifer’s achievements,” said Ginny Richardson, president of GR-PR. “Jennifer’s tireless energy brought this ballet company’s marketing results to a new level.”
