(HINSDALE, IL) Ginny Richardson, president of Ginny Richardson Public Relations (GR-PR), received the Silver Trumpet Award from the Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC) on Thursday, May 14, at an awards ceremony at the Palmer House Hilton, Chicago. In attendance were more than 500 public relations executives from public relations firms in Chicago and suburbs.
The Publicity Club of Chicago describes its Silver Trumpet award as “Distinguished achievement in public relations,” honoring individual achievement of public relations and other communications professionals. These coveted awards are presented for excellence in planning, creativity and execution.
Richardson won the award for her public relations work on the Navy SEAL Fitness Challenge which took place at University of Illinois, Chicago in Sept. of 2008. Conceived as an awareness campaign for general fitness as well as to demonstrate the Navy SEAL’s commitment to fitness, the free event garnered impressive media results and participation.
GR-PR’s media campaign earned more than 11,000,000 print impressions, TV segments on four networks and one cable station, a buzz on social media and blogs, and a on-site radio broadcast.
