Ginny
Richardson is one of those lucky folks who truly
loves her work. In fact, her career in public
relations began 28 years ago as a volunteer. No
matter what club she joined or what group she
belonged to, she took on the public relations, and
she discovered a knack that evolved into a talent
that evolved into a passion.
Finally, she got some guts and started charging. Her
first client, a local dentist paid her $5 an hour
(current fees are a tad higher).
During
those 28 years, she has been an associate editor of
The Doings Newspaper, a director of public
relations, a freelance writer for newspapers and
magazines, a talk show host on both radio and TV,
and a weekly columnist for ten years. By 1994, she
had accumulated enough experience to pursue her

company full-time. Today she presents an extensive
list of distinguished clients in the fields of
business, healthcare, hospitality, cultural arts and
retail.
Ginny's business is almost 100% media relations. She
pitches story ideas to the writers and producers of
radio, television, newspapers and magazines. She is
"midwife to a feature story" whether that story ends
up on the 5 p.m. news or as a feature in a local
paper. Ginny has solid relationships with the
reporters and columnists of Chicago and suburban
newspapers.
Ginny
is a member of the Publicity Club of Chicago, the
Public Relations Society of America, the National
Association of Women Business Owners, and the
Professional Women's Club of Chicago. She holds a
bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois,
Champaign.
